Cafe 8.98 Review from Egg on Toast!

Possibly the best Coffee and Cafe in the Ao Nang area! Fresh roasted coffee, owned/managed by an Finnish Chef (so there’s a great selection of Comfort food including poached eggs, eggs benedict, avacodo and eggs, sandwiches) – all the stuff I would find at a great cafe back in The West!
I say “possibly” because I’ve only been here a few days, however I have crawled and sussed out all the cafe’s here both by walking the whole strip and looking at their menu’s (coffee and food) as well as searching the internet for reviews. This place stood out immediately after seeing the menu, their cafe setup (coffee machine, decor etc. etc) and the food being served out to the tables…wow!

We spent a lot of time here, as you can see. ;) Everything that we have tried was absolutely amazing. Great staff, western prices. But you get a great quality! A must have to got there. Enjoy :)

Excellent chicken cob salad as a healthy option and a large portion. Good espresso and smoothies. Oh and the lemon cake is delicious! Attentive staff, friendly and helpful. Good value.

Great place to enjoy time there. A bit pricey (actually expensive) however I'd say worth every penny spent there. Eyes eat (t)here as well, as the visual presentation of the food is amazing, too; at least it was for the cheesecake I ordered.If they had vegan cakes I would give even six stars, if it at all would be possible.And it is one of the very few places where one can enjoy hot teas. P.S. I didn't make any photos as I left my telephone at the apartment to charge.P.P.S. Love the place; will come back for a pot of tea for sure.

Very good service, amazing food and drinks, nothing to fault. A western style cafe for when you want a change from Thai food. A bit pricy but I would say it is worth it.

A very new and tidy European-style cafe with perfect staff and air conditioning. The food is sublime too. However, this place is a bit more expensive compared to other cafes nearby.

This is a great indoor place to beat the heat and grab a great breakfast/lunch. It's very westernized so if you're looking for food that's not spicy and a little bit more green, you'll love this spot. The service is great, the tunes are mediocre (if you're into 90s pop)

We passed the cafe at thought it’s definitely worth a pop in. After taking our seats we were very politely welcomed by Ig and any questions we had about the menu he answered so politely and with great English. He didn’t let me (a 30 year old man order a kids meal lol) but he was 100% correct by suggesting a way better alternative. My wife had a lovely desert and shake. All the staff were lovely just would like to say a big thank you to Ice I (another meme we of staff)

Expensive but very nice, airy, modern, fresh. Good choice of interesting breakfast options and big choice of expensive but great looking coffee drinks. You can get a free coffee by rating them by the way ;)

This place is so great. We went here twice for the mango smoothie bowl and a sandwich. It was a great way to start or end a day at the beach

Cool little cafe off the beaten path which makes it a little more "locally." Acai bowl was tasty and the decor inside was nice. Workers are great as well!

Came here for a light dinner with my parents. The salads we're delicious and so was the coffee. Both the French Press and the hot Latte were smooth and tasty. The prices are higher than the average Thai restaurant, but the cuisine is different than the average Thai restaurant. I think the prices were fair for the portion size and quality, which was excellent.

I came here for lunch, I ordered the pesto pasta and it was delicious. I would highly recommend it. And I am for sure going back to this place in the future. Prices are great and beverages are really good. The decor makes you feel very welcome!

I searched around for chill cafe place, and this is one of the top recommendations. I got seated and the food was ready very quickly. The PROBLEM is, I felt pushed a lot by the waitress, so that they can serve more people, which was very uncomfortable.

Found this amazing place in krabi, which you can relax after a busy and tiring day. Ordered the ham & cheese croissant, watermelon lemonade and the best chocolate cake. Croissant is very crispy, the chocolate cake is very rich and the lemonade is refreshing. On top of all that the environment is very relaxing as well. Please note that the parking space is a little bit limited. All the food will make you want to come back again. Recommended!

First time at this restaurant with my wife and it so happened that today 16th Dec 2019 was its opening day...what a way to be a part of this grear tasting magnificent cafe. Had the Frajita and its soooo good! Staff is amazing and they don't speak basic English, they speak "Good" English

Great spot. Just try Fajitos here you will understand what I’m talking about it's so delicious. Atmosphere is very nice air conditioning space and very friendly stuff. Definitely recommended who looking for western food and high quality service.

The Nutella waffles with banana was such a delight. The texture of the waffles was made to my liking - crisp and golden brown. My latte was just an okay.

Great little cafe with solid food options.Not as traditional as we were looking for, but were pleasantly surprised by the high quality food and drinks. We ended up going back a second time during our 3 day stay.

The only place where I could get a proper breakfast. Too expensive for Thailand though.The latte I had was the most delicious coffee I ever had. Food was really good.Staff was just OK. Breakfast per person around €6 - €10 which is the same price as in Spain or other EU countries. So a bit expensive for being Thailand.

Such a good find, amazing that they have gluten and dairy free options for me! Gluten free bread and pasta options in Thailand are very hard to come by. Worth every penny and wish we could come here again. I had a sandwich and iced mocha (gluten free bread and coconut milk), amazing!

You can find a lot of western food here and when you have been travelling for a while it can be a welcoming break from trying new things. The atmosphere reminded me of cafes from home and it was like stepping into a different country when I went back outside. Delicious food too with a nice display and very clean seating area and toilets. Can be a nice way to escape the heat and relax in the air-conditioning. A bit more expensive than the street food that you can find though.

A well price cafe that sold hot food and great cocktails at a reasonable price. We came here for lunch, for a party of 5, selecting the spaghetti and the various sandwiches they offered. We also chose a variety of their cocktails which were delicious, with the Pina Colada coming in a fresh coconut.We loved it so much we came back for dinner, 2 ordered Mexican and 3 ordered the Sunday roast (chicken and pork) unfortunately the vegetables came out cold and the meat we just about warm... hence the four stars.I would still recommend Cafe 8.98, even just for a quick drink.The toilets were clean and the staff were friendly.
